My real name. . .

Well,  it was kind of fun going by an alias - for the first few months, at least. There was something quaint and quirky and - tricksy - about "Editrix" - old-fashioned version of "Editress". But recently I've been inclined to think it would be nice if I could use my real name here on my blog, and when visiting blogging friends online.

So today I asked for, and received, my parent's permission to use my real name on my blog!

My name is Elise!

Hm, maybe I'm sort of making a big fuss about nothing here. . . but for me this is a sort of mini-event, using my name for the first time on this blog! So bear with me. :-)

Many blessings, Elise, aka "The Editrix"  ;-)

HI Elise!!!

Nice to know your real name! I'd always wondered what it was!

LOL! Yeah, it just felt kind of weird - most of you use your real names, but you didn't know my name! :D It just feels better this way.

I like your pen name, but you'd kept me wondering. I love the name Elise and can't understand how someone would hide a name so beautiful on the blogosphere. :-)

:-) Aww, thanks Ana! I think it was mostly for safety reasons - I was trying to give away as little personal information as possible - but really, I don't think there's any danger in using my first name, LOL!

Lovely name...I've always held a special fondness for "Elise." I've never known anyone with the name (until now!!), but I've always liked it ever so much just the same!

Beautiful name and blog. Love the painting at the top of your blog. It's always been one of my favorites. I know a girl named Miranda with long red hair just like that. :)

I'm so excited to know your real name, I have always wanted to call you buy it. It is a simply a lovely name and one of my favorites. Being an avid Elsie Dinsmore fan, your name has special meaning to me.

Miss Jen - actually it's Elise, not Elsie. But thankyou anyway! :-)

Genevieve - why, thankyou! What a coincidence that you should know a red-haired Miranda. :-) BTW - I like your profile picture. ;-) I've recently been watching LOTR [again].

Elise,
Oh, dear me....I'm so sorry for spelling your name wrong! Forgive me for my utter non carefulness!Elise, is a beautiful name and I am so happy to call you by it now! ;)

Love & Blessings,
Miss Jen

P.S.
I looked up your name's meaning which is "My God is a vow"...what a neat meaning, very rich indeed!;)

That's okay! :-) I get called Elsie a lot online, LOL! I don't mind at all! :D

Well, according to the book of baby names that I have here, "Elise" means "consecrated to God" - which I suppose is similar to "My God is a vow" - either way, both are nice meanings.

Why thankyou, Alexandra! I must give credit to my parents, you know - they have good taste in names! ;-) I like the names they have chosen for my siblings, as well as my own.
