What Yours Truly did with herself today. . .

The Princess out of School, by Edward Robert Hughes

*Finished knitting my gorgeous new scarf. I'll try to get some pictures of it soon.

*Read several chapters of Sense and Sensibility while I knitted (I had the book propped up on a table in front of me so that I could  knit and read at the same time. Teehee!)

*Didn't get much schoolwork done, unfortunately. I'll try to make up for it tomorrow. . .

*Made pasta bake for dinner. . . yummy. . . I currently have a very full tummy - it's very filling.

*We were all very saddened by the news of Natasha Richardson's death. "The Parent Trap" (in which Richardson stars) is bit of a family favourite, so even the younger ones were touched by the news of her passing away.

*Practised guitar. . . I'm trying to get more comfortable on electric guitar. Currently I play only acoustic guitar in church, but my music teacher (who is also part of the worship team at church) says it's about time I get of my comfort zone and have a go at something different. . .

*Put a bid on a copy of Ever After on eBay. . . let's hope I win it! Have any of you seen the movie?

*Though I didn't do any today, I've been working on putting together a slideshow of one of my favourite young royals, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg. . . she's so gorgeous! And she was so cute when she was little. :-D To see the photo montage I've made on Andrea Casiraghi, click here. A fun way to spend a couple of hours on the weekend. LOL, most of you probably don't even know who Andrea Casiraghi is. . . never mind. :-)

*Fiddled around with my webcam with my baby sister on my lap. She was smiling and waving as she watched herself on the computer screen. :-D So cute. . . I love babies. . .

Hope you all had a lovely day, too! Or for my American readers, who won't read this until Thursday, even though it's actually the end of Thursday here, I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow/yesterday. LOL, time differences are so confusing. . .

huh, when I read and knit, I just have the book on my knees.

did you ever watch the photo montage I made on Kate Beckinsale?

Excuse my cynical mood - must be past my bedtime...

Hey! Happy Thursday ;)

Can't wait to see your new scarf!
My music teacher seems to think I need to start with an electric too; simply because the songs I like are more suited for an electric. I say, if he wants to buy an electric for me...sure I'll learn! LOL!
Geez. That's way sad about Natasha :( She was in "Nell" too.
I've never seen "Ever After" but for some strange reason; I wanna see "Ella Enchanted." hehe...

Yay! You guys haven't all dropped off the face of the earth! So that you don't all think I'm crazy (well, I'm sure a few of you think that about me anyway, LOLs) I just meant that I haven't been getting many comments recently. - And I turn on my laptop this morning, and there are 8 comments! Possibly a new record for me. . .

Okay - Andy, when it's a smallish paperback (as this was) it's hard to get it to stay open! It just keeps shutting itself all the time. . . the only way to get it to stay open so that I can read it is to prop it up a certain way on a table or bench!

Guitargirl - I think it's possibly better to learn on acoustic, and then move on to electric. Although, I can remember before we got our electric guitar, there were a LOT of songs that were written for electric (Planetshakers and Hillsong United stuff, mostly. . . ) and I found it really frustrating trying to play them on acoustic!

So, I hope you and your music teacher are able to organise something that works for you. :-)

Oh, and I really want to see Ella Enchanted sometime, too! Anne Hathaway and Hugh Dancy are both pretty easy on the eye. . . speaking of Anne Hathaway, I've got to watch the Princess Diaries movies sometime - I stil haven't seen them. . .

Miss Jen - I agree, Ever After is a gorgeous film. I saw it on TV several years ago, but no-one else from my family has seen it! Which is one of the reasons why I've been wanting to get it on dvd, so that I can share it with the rest of my family. (I did win it, BTW. Brand new, and I got it for $2.25 :-D ) I know the girls will love it. And the boys. . . well, from what I remember, there are one or two swordfights in the film, so hopefully the boys will at least tolerate it. :-)

So how much knitting did you do or is it how much reading did you do? It is rather like the chicken and the egg isn't it? I have tried knitting and reading at the same time and believe I end up not enjoying either one as much as I do when I do them solo.

I enjoyed reading about the meandering path of your day, your thoughts and feelings; I hope I voted for that one.

Hi Cathy!

In this instance, it worked fairly well, for a couple of reasons: the pattern was very simple, mostly just plain knit stitch; and it was worked horizontally, not vertically, so I hardly ever had to turn the work. If it was a pattern stitch, I probably would have had a lot more trouble trying to knit and read at the same time. :-)

Oh I adore Ever After it's such a good film! Have a tissue near by just in case - my mom and I cried the first time we watched it. ;)

It is so sad about Natasha Richardson, she was one of a great acting family and I loved her in The Parent Trap and Widows' Peak. She will be missed.

Can't wait to see photos of your new scarf. Reading and knitting sounds lovely!

It's officially Friday the 20th here in east coast USA and that means the first day of spring! Yay! :)

Ever After is such a excellent movie!!! My Brother asked what I wanted for Christmas (while we were shopping)and I picked it up and said excitedly "This!" His face gave away a bit of horror at the thought of another girls movie, but he brought it and I believed watched it!

Ella Enchanted is OK, but I think the book is far, far better. But that's only my opinion... And I do prefer reading... most of the time at least!

Wow. . . I was looking forward to watching it before, but after reading all your positive comments, I am suitably 'hyped up' and can't wait to watch Ever After again. :-D

I didn't know Ella Enchanted was an adaptation of a book! Hmm, I guess I should probably read the book before I see the movie. . .

I liked the beginning of the Princess Diaries. It was kind of funny :) I haven't seen the second...
That's what my teacher told me...it's better to learn on acoustic because it's harder ;)

The Editrix said...

LOL, yes it is harder! The other day I had a practise on the electric guitar, then I swapped over to acoustic. It was so hard to press down on the strings in comparison!
