"You've Come a Long Way, Baby" - an excellent overview of the history of feminism

This is the best thing I've seen on Youtube in a long time. Many thanks to Kelly from Generation Cedar, for posting the link to this series. Click here to watch Part 1 of Mary Kassian's message given at the True Woman '08 conference last year in Chicago.

"I am most anxious to enlist everyone who can speak or write to join in checking this mad, wicked folly of "Women's Rights," with all its attendant horrors, on which her poor feeble sex is bent, forgetting every sense of womanly feelings and propriety. Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to "unsex" themselves by claiming equality with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of begins and would surely perish without male protection.I love peace and quiet, I hate politics and turmoil. We women are not made for governing, and if we are good women, we must dislike these masculine occupations."~Queen Victoria, 1870

Yes, it is a great message. And rather than being negative or despairing, it is ultimately inspiring.

Isn't that a great quote? I love it! :-D
