Aliens, zombies invading Austen. . . *yawn*

This is totally crazy. . . I don't know what to think. I'd heard about the zombies, but not the aliens! We were just starting to get over Lost in Austen (which honestly wasn't that bad, I thought, even if some of the humour was a bit 'off'), and already we're set to have two more Pride and Prejudice spoofs. - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Pride and Predator. . .

For once I really don't know what to say about these upcoming Austen "adaptations". What are your thoughts?

And I also heard there's yet another screen version of Robin Hood in the making, with Cate Blanchett to play Marian and - Russell Crowe as Robin Hood? Hmmm. . . And Mark Strong (Mr. Knightley from the Kate Beckinsale Emma) will be Sir Guy of Gisborne! Now that will be interesting. I think Richard Armitage will always be Sir Guy to me, though. ;-)

um, oh... the zombie one sounds like it might be a bit amusing, but the other one, pride and predator just sounds weird!

I agree. . . very weird. When I first heard the title I had a good giggle. . . I mean, really Pride and Predator??? Ummmm. . .

It should really be Pride vs Predator or Lizzie vs Predator. We watched becoming Jane the other day and agreed that it would have been so much better if aliens had invaded or there was a zombie uprising. Yay! I for one am excited about these spoofs.

I for one am reasonably interested in the Robin Hood movie/tv movie (which is it, by the way?). I hope they don't end it with Robin dying in the convent, like in most of the books.

Theresa - hmmm, I haven't seen Becoming Jane, but from what I've heard, you're probably right. . .

Adam - it's a 'movie' movie, not a tv production. Yes, I hope they don't end it with Robin's death - I hope they don't end it with Marian's death either, like the BBC did in their recent series. . .

WEIRD. I like it better when they stick to the book. :)

I have given you an award!

HMMMM....
A new Robin Hood? With two of my favorite actors! Maybe it is worth watching.

Yes, let us hope it will be worth watching! ;-)

I'm not a fan of adaptions - would rather watch the real thing (Though I'm afraid the BBC version spoilt any other P&P adaption for me; it's just so good!)

I did like Bride and Prejudice, but I love everything Bollywood so it might not be to everyones taste.

(BTW found my way here from the Sense and Sensibility board)

Livi, Erin, Joanna - I agree! Still, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I haven't watched Bride and Prejudice - must watch it sometime. . . I think I'd like it. I love Bollywood music, dancing, and colourful outfits. . . even though it can all be a bit cheesy sometimes. :-D And Aishwarya Rai is so gorgoeus, I'd love to see her in this movie.

Often spoofs like these are made, and equally often, one or two are very clever and witty and enjoyable, if you like that sort of thing :)
However, if one does flop, it can be a little embarrassing for those who enjoyed the originals...but nonetheless, I wait for these with anticipation, as they should be good fun
