Finally! Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford on ABC1 Sunday Night

Yep,  15 months after it was aired in the UK, period drama lovers Down Under finally get to enjoy the BBC's Cranford - three of Elizabeth Gaskell's novels blended together into one magnificent miniseries.

"You need to be in front of this on Sunday night. It goes for three weeks and if you don't love it there's something wrong with you." -- from an article in the Courier-Mail. I couldn't agree more! Link: Cranford a program for our frugal days

I'll be sure to post more news articles and reviews as they come.

I can't recommend this program highly enough - but I won't bore you by gushing over it; just watch it for yourself!

Click here to go to the ABC's program page for Cranford.

Just to clarify that again: Cranford will be shown in three segments on ABC1, starting tomorrow, Sunday 8th Feb. at 8:30pm.

EDIT: Perhaps it isn't necessary, but I should perhaps add that when I say ABC I mean the Australian Broadcasting Corporation - not the American Broadcasting Corporation, LOL! :-)

Oh, yes....isn't Cranford wonderful?!!
I think Julie Dench does such an amazing acting job (as always ;) and Imelda Staunton (who plays Miss Pole) does a fabulous job as well!! I just love when Miss Jenkins states, "Your not in London anymore Dr.Harrison...you are in Cranford now." Oh my, it's just too great. If only life could be like that now.... * sigh, oh well, what a consolation it is, to be able to be transported to Cranford once and a while!!Hope you are doing well Elise, and are staying nice and healthy!! ;)

Love & Blessings,
Miss Jen

P.S.
Thanks for informing me about the program on ABC, too. ;)

I know, Judi Dench is fantastic - in fact, every one of the actors is just wonderful! Haha, I love bit, too - yes, I think I would like very much to be transported to Cranford, if only for a short visit. . .

I am doing fairly well, thankyou. :-) Still coughing away, but getting better, slowly. . .

LOL! I don't know if it would be in my top 5, but I think it would make it into my top 10! ;-)

I have been wanting to see this for some time. Is is like Pride and Prejudice at all? BTW My mother is the author of Generation Cedar, I noticed you had her on your side bar.

Hi Bria! Wow, I've been reading your mother's blog for so long, I almost feel like I know you, LOL!

Now, about Cranford: it is different than Pride and Prejudice, but if you like P&P, you'll probably like Cranford. I would say it is more like Wives and Daughters than P&P.
