A Damsel's Daybook XII

~A Damsel's Daybook - hosted by Autumn~

Outside my window.......... a warm, humid spring day. Too warm. I miss winter!! I wanna move to Tasmania! Or England! Or somewhere!

I am thinking about......... a friend.

From the kitchen.......... breakfast dishes waiting to be stowed away in the dishwasher.

I am creating ......... nothing at the moment. I need to find something to do with my hands - I don't feel like crocheting or knitting just now.

I am reading......... Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer; and North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.

I am hearing....... Siblings, Rainbow Lorikeets, blue wrens.

I am hoping......... that the grand final replay ends in a result!

I am planning.......... to enjoy these school holidays - doing stuff with siblings and learning to sew (hopefully)!

I am wearing............ greeny-blue top and black tiered skirt.

Around the house.......... not much at the moment.

My wish of the week ......... that the two people in family who are having birthdays soon would both have very special days.

Horrible Histories

Photobucket

Some of you may have read one or two or twenty of Terry Deary's Horrible Histories books as a kid. Maybe you still love to read them (you're not alone! ;-). But did you know that the BBC have produced a Horrible Histories TV series? It's a sketch show - each episode is comprised of a series of skits with the odd song or two. The show is brilliantly conceived and often insanely funny. In theory, it's a kids show - in reality, older viewers will probably get more out of this! Particularly if you're bit of a history nut like me. . . :-)

The only thing in this show that I don't love so much: the frequent bathroom jokes. . . And the deliberately silly, over-the-top blood and gore won't be to everyone's taste. But, potty humour aside. . . there are some seriously funny songs and sketches in this show. I couldn't resist sharing a few!

Check out these two YT channels for more: here and here.

Oh wait - just one more: this one is stupid but so funny. . . I've got a stomach-ache from laughing. . .

A dilemma!

Dear readers, the next installment due in my Literary Adaptations series is an adaptation of a very - very - long classic. I have never read it, but I feel like I ought to read it before I write my review of this movie adaptation. But then, it would take me a long time to read the book, so it would be a while before I'd be able to write the review. Which would put my Literary Adaptations series on hiatus for a while (again).

Hellllp!! What should I do! I could just go ahead and write the darned blog post, but the perfectionist in me is rearing its provoking head, telling me I need to read the book first so that I can write I balanced, informed review of this adaptation! Aargh!!!

This is late in coming. . .

. . . but the final Caption Contest winner was Grace! Congrats! :-)
