Love's Abiding Joy, the fourth movie in the Love Comes Softly series, will be on Channel 7 tomorrow (May 7th) from 12pm to 2pm for any Australian readers who might want to watch it. Sorry this is such late notice! I meant to do a blog post about this ages ago, but then I forgot all about it. :-( I'll be watching it! I've only seen the first three movies in the series so far. . .

Hate to pop a bubble, but this one is suuuuuper sad. And I'm not crazy about the subplot...but I won't give any more away. The first two were my favorites. ;-)
Hmm, I've heard that this one isn't the best movie in the series. I'll still watch it, though.

It's probably my least favorite in the series, but I like it better every time I see it - you just have to watch all of them sometime!
Well, I watched it! I think it's my least favourite in the series so far. I was disappointed, not only by the changes they made from the book (I had at least expected that), but by the overall quality of the movie. I suppose it isn't much worse than any of the other movies in the series. I don't know. I thought the acting was pretty average, and the editing was a bit choppy. They included scenes that didn't seem to be necessary, but at other times they seemed to rush through the story. And I thought the ending was a bit "blah" - when it finished, we all said "Is that it? Is that the end??"
But I thought the romance between Jeff and Colette was rather sweet. :-) I certainly don't regret spending 2 hours of my life watching the movie; but I don't think it's one that I'll want to see over and over. Unlike the first movie in the series, which I have seen many times.
