ARGH!!!!!!!!!! You had to do that! ;-) I am SOOOO not sure which one is my favorite. I wrote a post a while back comparing each of the characters in the 95/05...here is the link.

But like I said, I'm not sure. 1940 was the first version of P&P that I saw...2005 was the next, then the 1995. I haven't seen the 1980 one.

Hmmm...I'm going to have to stew over it and come back later. ;-)

No question in my mind...1995 is head and shoulders above the rest. Granted, it has 6 hours to tell the story which I think is to its advantage but I feel it has become the iconic period drama. I also enjoyed the 2005 film - the cinematography was beautiful. As for 1940, I think it's kind of comical to watch but fun to see. It's weird to think that it would be another 40 years before the 1980 series was made. Unfortunately, I found Rintoul's Darcy much too stiff and the cinematic style too dated. But that's just me!

Thanks, Jen! I am getting better - it seems to be a rather mild cold. And thanks for letting me know about the give away! :-D

Alexandra - LOL! ;-D I'm glad that, being the creator of the poll, I don't have to vote! Thanks for the link - I seem to remember reading your post before. . . but it was nice to look at it again. :-)

Charleybrown - I actually haven't seen the 1940 version. Well. . . I think I saw some of it on tv years ago - I don't remember much about it though, except that the costumes were amazingly historically inaccurate! :P I think there were other versions of P&P made between 1940 and 1980, but none of them are widely viewed today.

Well, so far it's '95 and '05 going neck and neck, with 4 votes each!

I love the 95 P&P. Personally, it is my favorite of all of them, with Keira Knightley coming in second.

I have watched the other two and disliked both immensely (and I love 40's movies)

Ella - wow! I quite liked P&P80, though like I said, I haven't really seen the 1940 version. Each to his (or her) own, I guess. :-)

Thanks everyone for voting!
