I'm wondering if this the same costume as the blue dress above, only digitally altered to change its colour? It seems to be a very similar design. . .

This was certainly not a very organised or exhaustive overview of Arwen's costumes! For an infinitely more in-depth and informed look at Arwen's outfits, click here.

I agree with you, Elise!
It IS a great pity that we cannot dress like this in modern times - as if we just stepped out of a Pre-Raphaelite painting! No wonder men no longer write poetry to women like they used to. Modern clothing doesn't even hold a torch to these gowns...
Thanks for a lovely commentary on Arwen's wardrobe! :-)
Best wishes - Sincerely, Lex Anne
What beautiful colors they put Arwen in!! :)
To the KING be all the glory!

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
I think it would be fun to be a movie actress in a film like that, just to be able to wear the costumes ;P
Yep! Its the same dress. Its called the Requiem Dress. I have no idea why they changed the color.
The last two pictures are of the original Angel Dress, and the 'Rose Gown'.=)

The outfit she's wearing while holding the sword is briefly seen in RotK, when Arwen is heard quoting the poem 'All That Is Gold'.:)
Oh I love love love her wardrobe. The costuming designer... Nina, I think.... I don't know the last name... =| Well, anyways, she did an AMAZING job. I am costuming an 1850's play right now, and it's not the easiest job! But to produce dresses with such detail. =O If you can't tell, i'm in awe =P
She is so pretty :)
Love your blog btw :D
A delightful commentary! Arwen is my favorite character from LOTR. :) I'm becoming a follower. I would love it if you stopped by mine sometime! :) http://numberthestars147.blogspot.com/ Have a blessed day!
